Overview
1.0 INTRODUCTION
M.Sc. Tropical Medicine & Infectious Disease is the program will focus on the control of infectious diseases that are endemic in tropical countries. The following groups of health conditions are covered in detail: tropical diseases targeted for elimination, helminth diseases, diarrheal diseases, diseases lacking adequate control, vaccine-preventable diseases, and “the big three” (HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis). As a group, we will spend a significant amount of time studying the biology, epidemiology, and control of diseases such as onchocerciasis, Chagas’ disease, lymphatic filariasis, and leprosy, dengue, leishmaniasis, human African trypanosomiasis, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis

M.Sc. of Tropical Medicine & Infectious Disease
1. Students will understand the key biological features of the main group of tropical infectious diseases that are currently of public health importance.
2. Students will understand the key epidemiological features of the main group of tropical infectious diseases that are currently of public health importance.
3. Students will learn to develop control strategies to address these tropical infectious diseases by (a) reading the peer-reviewed literature to understand current control strategies, (b) considering the social, economic, biological, and environmental drivers of disease, and (c) discussing their own creative ideas for disease control with the class
M.A. - Tropical Medicine & Infectious Disease Eligibility Criteria
• Minimum Qualification Required for admission in M.A. Tropical Medicine & infectious disease course is Graduation in health science
• Minimum Marks Required (Aggregate) is 50% to 60%. It varies from college to college
