Overview

1.0        INTRODUCTION

M.A. in Public Administration is a one-year is a postgraduate Public Administration course. Public Administration is a comprehensive and thorough study of Public Administration as a discipline at an advanced level. M.A. (Public Administration) degree course covers the study of various Theories of Administration, Public Organisations, Financial Administration, Public Services and the Constitutional Framework. In other words, M.A. in (Public Administration) degree course is a study involving the study of a system through which the government carries out its business of ruling and controlling effectively. M.A. (Public Administration) degree course teaches and trains the students in democratic values such as equality, justice, security and order. It also prepares such human resources (called public administrators) who can critically analyse and review public policies of the government. The students are also taught to take the responsibility of determining the policies and programmes of the government.

·         Minimum Qualification Required for admission in M.A. Public Administration course is Graduation in any stream

·         Minimum Marks Required (Aggregate) is 50% to 60%. It varies from college to college

·         Age Limit: Some institutes may have an age limit for candidates who seek admission

The MAts Public Administration (Top-up) aims to extend and enhance the understanding and competence gained via professional qualifications and to enhance the ability of students to think strategically about management and organizational change within Public Administration.

This programme is designed for (Postgraduate) in Public Administration graduates and provides a means by which the continuing professional and personal needs of Administration practitioners can be met.

This programme will broaden your specialist knowledge previously gained at a professional level. In particular, the module, ‘Public Administration research project’ guides you to research into the key challenges Public Administration professionals face in the industry. This module aims to equip Public Administration professionals with the necessary skills to undertake independent project work within an administrative context. The Research Methods element provides you with an introduction to research, types of research methodology, formulating and planning a research project, data collection, analysis, and presentation of research findings based upon an actual administration in public focused topic.
